JESUS IS LORD.

Mission.

Mobilizing an inter-generational network of affirmation zone, tone setting, soul winning creative disciples to flourish in their relationship with God and thrive in His Kingdom, with the capacity to impart His supernatural; love, life, light and eternal purpose for the nations to all people groups in their heart language.

Mandate.

Transformation in the natural, from caterpillar to butterfly, and coal to diamond, is 'metamorphic'.  So, transformation in the spiritual, from sinner to new creation and born again maturity in Christ, is Megamorphic.
(Romans 3:23, 2 Corinthiasn 5:7, John 3:4-7. 2 Corinthians 3:18, Ephesians 4:11-13)

Megamorphic Church is called by the God of the Nations; Our Father in Heaven in the name of Jesus, His Son, to function in the loving power of His Holy Spirit; for His glory, to generate unity with purpose in the church worldwide and to hasten the fulfillment of the Great Commission.  This interdependence is designed to produce dynamics and economies of scale that mutually benefit members of the Body of Christ from the micro to the macro.

Our Beginnings.

Megamorphic Church was founded by the Smith Family - Phil, Shona, Esther and Caleb (now Eversmith), with the primary assistance of Raymond Barnett Jr. and Maghan Everidge (now Eversmith).  It was conceived from a seed planted by God in the heart of Caleb in 2012 when, while recording an album, the word "Megamorphic" was quickened to him, followed by the interpretation.
The church was birthed at "The Manger", the basement of the Smith abode in Hermitage, Tennessee.

Statement of beliefs.

The Bible

The Bible is God's Word to us. It is “God breathed”. All 66 books written under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any form of error (including scientific and historical). (I Tim 1:13 & 3 :16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; I Cor 2:13; Psalm 119:105; Proverbs 30:5)

God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one God. (Genesis 1:1, 26, 27 & 3:22; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jesus came to this earth in the flesh, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin and lived a sinless human life as God Incarnate.
Jesus offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He physically rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death.
Jesus ascended to Heaven and will physically return again someday to earth to reign as King. (Matt 1:22,23; John 1:1-5,14; Heb 4:14-15; 1 Cor 15:3-4; Rom 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Tim 6:14-15; Isaiah 7:14; 9:6)

Human Beings

People are made in the image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God's creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by a sinful nature which is a consequence of Adam and Eve’s original sin. Sin separates us from God. (Gen 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Rom 3:23)

Salvation

Salvation is God's free gift to us, and we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. It cannot be earned! We simply need to receive it, and from there we are to learn how to use the gift in obedient partnership with God Himself. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into their life by faith. We do not need to wait until physical death to receive salvation. (Rom 6:23; Eph 2:8-9; John 14:6, 1:2; Gal 3:26; Rom 5:1, 10:9-10, John 17:3)

The Church

God’s Apostolic team made up of the born again, Bible believing people from every kindred, tribe and tongue. We are Called to; disciple the all the nations, and get prepared to be the glorious, victorious Bride of The Lamb Jesus Christ.

Megamorphic is called as an interdependent joint in the overall Body of Christ through initiating and inculcating integrated mission, ministry and master-craftsmanship. (1 Corinthians 12:12-31, Romans 12:4-5, Revelation 19:1-10)

Communion

We regularly practice Communion. Jesus initiated this practice (I Cor 11:28-32) to remember His death and resurrection and commune with God and our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Water Baptism

We practice baptism by fully immersing a person in water. Baptism is a choice that is made to obey Jesus' command and to follow His example. We baptize people "in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit."(Matthew 3:13-17; 28;19; Acts 2:34-36; 19:1-6).

Baptism with the Holy Spirit

When a person begins a relationship with Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit begins to live inside the believer at the moment of salvation. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the Promise of the Father to his believers. (Acts 2:1-4; 8:14-17; 10:44-46; Gal 3:14-15). This baptism of the Holy Spirit is given to every believer who asks God for it. Speaking in tongues and prophesying are the common evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit.

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

In 1 Corinthians 12-14, the Bible lists many gifts of the Holy Spirit. The First Century Church practiced these gifts regularly and we should as well. We desire to have these gifts functioning within the members of the entire church family.

Megamorphic

This is the name of our church and it was given in prayer to one our founders, Caleb Eversmith from God. It is a reference of the transformation into the image of Christ from glory to glory as referenced in 2 Corinthians 3:18. Metamorphic is physical transformation. Megamorphic is spiritual transformation. It is mega because it is transcendent of our physical reality.
