COLLABORATIVE “LOW-RARCHY” LEADERSHIP
Introduction

Collaboration
Matthew 10:1-13, 42 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. 2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; 3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. 5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. 9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, 10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat. 11 And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence. 12 And when ye come into an house, salute it. 13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you…
42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
Jesus empowered the disciples, sent them out as a group, gave them the parameters, told them to partner with those ‘who were worthy’ in any given city they went to.
Why Collaborate?
1. Collaboration is the antidote to pride
Proverbs 13:10 Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom
2. Two are better than one
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
3. Jesus Collaborated
The Godhead is a model of collaboration
I only do what I see the father doing
John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
John 17: 1 - These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
John 14:26 - But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Lowrarchy Leadership
Today we are talking about collaborative lowrarchy leadership. We all know what a hierarchy is right? - a system where people are ranked one above another. Eg QE 11
We at Megamorphic have made up our own word for what Jesus lived as an example – LOWRARCHY.
A system where people who by role and responsibility have authority/supervision within the church where they lead by serving others.
Jesus led by Serving
Examples:
1. Jesus cooked on the beach for the disciples.
John 21 9 As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread. 10 Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.
2. Jesus washed the disciples feet
John 13: 4, 12-17 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. 5 After that he poureth water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.
12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? 13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. 16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. 17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
Who all wants to be happy? Well, Jesus has just given us a key to what brings happiness.
Megamorphic serves as a lowrachy
Megamorphic Charter
Structure
Megamorphic Church functions with a ‘lowrarchical’ structure:
All involved are to walk humbly before God
See one another as better than ourselves
Spiritual and natural contributions are encouraged
Leaders function as servants
The older serve the younger
Strong uphold the weak
The greatest support the least
Those that have give to those that don’t
Everyone relates in mutual submission with due respect for leadership
All are equally important regardless of role, status or stature in Biblical equality and liberality.
1 Corinthians 9:11 (KJV) 11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?
2 Corinthians 8:13-15 (KJV) 13 For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened: 14 But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality: 15 As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.

We are all leaders in some respect or other:
Let’s make a decision to serve others
Let’s all be collaborative
