BEING TRANSFORMED BY BEING CHURCH

2 Corinthians 3:18
18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

TRANSFORMATION!

Anecdote of being married & talking about my past, the way I was and how transformed I am.

2 Corinthians 3:17. (Highlight from foundations. Election, Salvation, those who never hear of Jesus, why preach if they can be saved?)
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

"Rediscovering God's Instrument for Global Transformation"

Ekklesia.
Definition. (Historical Terms) the assembly of citizens of an ancient Greek state.

The Religious connotation came later because we Christians used it for the church. King James is actually the person who changed “Assembly” to “church” in the English bibles because he was not happy with his authority being undermined. Jesus came so that ALL AUTHORITY would be His, and HE gave that Authority to the Ekklesia.

Luke 19:8-10
8 Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.”
9 And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; 10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

- True Repentance

- THAT which was lost.

- this leads DIRECTLY into the parable of the 10 Talents. THE MARKETPLACE.

Redeem The Marketplace

- People think of money as bad. It’s the LOVE of money that is bad. Money is simply a tool.

- Talk about grant disabled kid. Pay him well, he does a good job. It’s about HONOR. The KINGDOM is what the church enforces.

“Conventus”

Roman concept. Where ever two or more Romans gathered, there was an expression of the Roman kingdom. I agree with Ed Silvoso that Jesus was clearly referencing this with his “Where two or more are gathered” comments.

Ed Silvoso raises that Jesus didn’t teach much about the Ekklesia because it was such a familiar concept. The Kingdom of God is what the Ekklesia Christ came to bring is supposed to enforce, but while people knew about the Ekklesia, they didn’t know anything about the kingdom, That’s why Jesus focused on the Kingdom. Too many try and separation the church from the kingdom. The church, The Ekklesia is how we bring about the kingdom of God. They’re inseparable!!!!

5 paradigms of TRANSFORMATION

1 discipline nations, not just individuals
2 atonement for the marketplace
3 work is worship for God. Do your work unto him, as an act of worship

  1. Jesus builds the church (we take the keys of the kingdom) “No more holding back, we’re going on the attack” - Satan is on the DEFENSE

  2. Elimination of poverty (spiritual, relational, motivational, material, biblical) is the true metric of transformation “Give a man a fish”

The 5/15/80 Principle.
