GLORY OF THE NATIONS 3
Glory of the Nations
Ways glory can be generated:
John 17 (unity with purpose)
Vs 1-3
Resurrection life is what releases God’s glory
John 11 (Lazarus)
For there to be resurrection there has to be death
Opening title of Create to Relate Bible Foundations - Glory of the nations, that glory flows out of God’s will which is supernatural relationship
When we talk about GLORY of the NATIONS, God’s kingdom flows from within, not from what we observe.
Even when we think of the cross, are we preoccupied with gory or glory. When we see gory, in order for us to actually pray in line with the scriptures, we need to look to God and His principles that flow from within and not react to the gory
2 Corinthians 4
Thinking of Afghanistan, is our prayer primarily focused on the gory, or are we going to choose to pray as a JOYFUL HOUSE OF PRAYER
Joyful house of Prayer for the Nations
First of all, so many people struggle with this idea that the OT God is different than the God they see in the NT.
IT’S THE SAME GOD.
Same Heart
Same Nature
Same Purpose
He is the same yesterday, today, forever. God’s wonder, worship, word, will, ways, works and wisdom are seen throughout scripture. They are seen in the fabric of creation. And if we look at it and think in our hearts -> That’s not right, just, loving, good etc, we need to humble ourselves.
The guy who created the factory settings for our world and ourselves has a better idea of what’s best for those factory settings than we do!
So I figured I’d show us that despite what many say, God’s heart for ALL nations is seen throughout scripture:
Gen 1:28 – God’s first words to humankind: “be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth, rule over it”
Gen 9:1,7– God’s first words to Noah after he got off the ark: “be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth, rule over it”.
Gen 10/11 - God establishes nations and their languages, somehow the world came to have one language, at Babel languages are reestablished.
Gen 12 -28: God makes covenant with Abraham to bless all nations “Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Exodus 12: 37-38 - Other people went with the Israelites out of Egypt “And the people of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides women and children. A mixed multitude also went up with them, and very much livestock, both flocks and herds.”
Deuteronomy 2:25 This day I will begin to put the dread and fear of you on the peoples who are under the whole heaven, who shall hear the report of you and shall tremble and be in anguish because of you.’ - This was ultimately for GOD’S GLORY, his heart here is for the people to see through his chosen nation how working in collaboration with God is the bomb.
Joshua 2: Rahab included
Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations in all the earth.
Psalm 117:1 Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples!
Isaiah 11:10
“And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse,
Who shall stand as a banner to the people;
For the Gentiles shall seek Him,
And His resting place shall be glorious.”
Isaiah 42:1
“Behold! My Servant whom I uphold,
My Elect One in whom My soul delights!
I have put My Spirit upon Him;
He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.
Isaiah 42:6
“I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness,
And will hold Your hand;
I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people,
As a light to the Gentiles, To open blind eyes,
To bring out prisoners from the prison,
Those who sit in darkness from the prison house.
Isaiah 49:6
Indeed He says, ‘It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant
To raise up the tribes of Jacob, And to restore the preserved ones of Israel;
I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, That You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ”
Isaiah 60:1-5
Arise, shine; For your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the Lord will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.
3 The Gentiles shall come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.
4 “Lift up your eyes all around, and see:
They all gather together, they come to you;
Your sons shall come from afar,
And your daughters shall be nursed at your side.
5 Then you shall see and become radiant,
And your heart shall swell with joy;
Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you,
The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.
V11 Therefore your gates shall be open continually;
They shall not be shut day or night,
That men may bring to you the wealth of the Gentiles, And their kings in procession.
Joel 2:28 And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.
Amos 9:11-12 “On that day I will raise up The tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, And repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, And rebuild it as in the days of old; 12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom, And all the Gentiles who are called by My name,” Says the Lord who does this thing.
Malachi 1:11 My name will be great among the nations, from where the sun rises to where it sets. In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to me, because my name will be great among the nations,” says the Lord Almighty.
Matt 24:14 This gospel will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations and then the end will come
Matthew 28:18-20 - Great Commission
Acts 1:8: purpose of Holy Spirit to give power to WITNESS to ENDS OF THE EARTH The Holy Spirit will give you power; be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Samaria, Judea, and the ends of the earth.
Acts 2: People from EVERYWHERE ministered to by the spirit and thousands saved!
Romans 10:13-15 - Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved - how will they know unless we go?
Romans 15:18-21 - bring gentiles to obedience - Paul desires to go where no one has gone before!
1 Tim 2:1-4 God desires all people to come to be saved First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
Rev 5:9 - People redeemed from every nation
Rev 7:9-10 People from every nation worship the lamb before the throne
God knew what we would need to BE so we can do what we are called to do
The purpose - Disciple ALL nations.
He KNEW we would need JOY, FAMILY, and PRAYER.

Are you a New Creationality?
If you are, when you come to prayer, is it the New Creation you that you’re exercising or is it your old or natural self, to be a joyful house of prayer it has to be the lively stone in the house.
In order to be that lively stone, you have to be built in together with other lively stones, grounded on right foundations LET’S COMMIT TO THAT TODAY.
