God’s word makes it clear, The Church is The Ecclesia, The born again Bible believers from every kindred, tribe and tongue. Similarly, there is a Biblical mandate for The Church, as part of fulfilling the great commission to disciple all nations, to influence the laws, policies and administration of those nations. Joseph, Daniel, Cornelius, The Apostles, The Ethiopian Eunuch, Queen Esther, along with so many historic Christian figures such as William Wilberforce. 

In the well-known prophecy from Isaiah regarding the birth of Jesus Christ we read "For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace". In the New Testament we see that Jesus is the head of the Church and we are His body. Thus we are not just His hands and feet as is commonly expressed, we are also His shoulders. Thus we are to carry His supernatural noble government on our shoulders into every facet of the affairs of nations.    

We are not advocating that Christians, nor people in general, should look to a human political leader to be the ultimate source of well-being and esteem, as the Israelites mistakenly did in the time of Samuel and Saul. Rather, we are proposing that all of us, from the least to the greatest, are to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. To walk in obedience to the king of kings, is to publicly shine the glorious light of the gospel and make God’s Biblical ways our song.
