A Zone Layers 4
THE A-ZONE LAYERS OF THE ATONEMENT SPHERE: ADORATION
KENOTE SCRIPTURE:
Matthew 26:6-12
"While Jesus was in Bethany in the home of Simon the Leper, a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he was reclining at the table. When the disciples saw this, they were indignant. “Why this waste?” they asked. “This perfume could have been sold at a high price and the money given to the poor.” Aware of this, Jesus said to them, “Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a beautiful thing to me. The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me. When she poured this perfume on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial. Truly I tell you, wherever this gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.”"
This woman recognized the appropriate response to provision of Atonement. That is, Adoration.
Jesus was in the home of a LEPER.
the method of worship was VERY EXPENSIVE.
- “Why this waste” It could have been….
- God’s economy is not a limited economy.
-“the poor you will always have with you”
Wherever the gospel is preached.
Adoration is so key to the gospel, this story is to be told everywhere it is preached.

WHY DOES GOD NEED OUR WORSHIP?
He doesn’t. but doing so is JUSTICE! It’s our purpose. It’s essential to us living in the Atonement sphere. To live in at-one-ment with God, we need to worship Him or the relationship would be inappropriate.
The thing that separates us from animals. Motivation. Something DEEPER. If a cat comes to you for food, and is nice to you for it, you know, basic manipulation, we understand and comply. It’s often considered a loving relationship. But if another human does such a thing it’s not love, it’s either formal and cold or it’s offensive. There is something different when it comes to humans right? We’re the exception. We’ve been created with something DEEPER. We are here for DEEP relationship. The dynamics of that relationship is that we are the creation and HE is the creator. We are the worshippers and HE is to be worshipped for His greatness.
BIBLICAL WORSHIP
1. Worship in Spirit and in Truth.
"But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” - John 4:23-24
2. Jesus is that truth.
"Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me". - John 14:6
3. The Big Picture. The Logos of the scripture.

FEELINGS!
Ray’s favorite subject.
ADORATION is worship with deep feelings.
We can control our feelings. We can make choices to change our feelings.
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. - 1 Corinthians 10:13
Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city. - Proverbs 16:32
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. - Galatians 5: 16-24
