INTRODUCTION

Discipleship Purpose
2 Cor 3:18 “And we all, who with unveiled faces behold the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
Discipleship Culture
1 Corinthians 10:31 “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Rev 1:6, 5:10, 1 Peter 2:9 We are kings and priests, royal priests.
Ephesians 2:6 We are seated above in heavenly places
Discipleship process:
Rectified, justified, sanctified, glorified, undignified
Rectified:
Hebrews 12:5-6 “And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”
1 Peter 1:8 “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers”
Revelation 5:9 “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation"
Justified/Glorified:
Romans 8:30 “Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.”
Sanctified:
Acts 28:18 "To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”
Romans 15:16 “That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.”
1 Corinthians 1:2 “Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:”
Undignified!:
2 Sam 6:22 ““And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight. But as for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor.”
1 Chronicles 13-15
Discipleship Posture:
Psalm 3:3 "But you, O LORD, are a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of my head.”
Luke 21:28 "Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.
Discipleship vocab:
Psalm 29:9 "The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.”
Some translations say “in his temple they all cry “glory””. The word that is translated to “speak of” or “glory”, encapsulates much, including; "to say (used with great latitude):—answer, appoint, avouch, bid, boast self, call, certify, challenge, charge, (at the, give) command(-ment), commune, consider, declare, demand, desire, determine, expressly, indeed, intend, name, plainly, promise, publish, report, require, say, speak (against, of), still, suppose, talk, tell, term, that is, think, use (speech), utter, verily, yet.”

Time at the altar, alters the times
To take hold of any and all of God’s blessing in our lives, we need the Holy Spirit, in Hebrew the word used for Holy Spirit is “Ruwach”, which means breath! Additionally in Hebrew, the letter which is the equivalent of the English “H" represents breath. We see this alluding to the involvement of the Holy Spirit with God changing Abrams name to Abraham and Sarai to Sarah. One of the main workings of the Holy Spirit is God’s all consuming fire. In the old testament the priests each day had to clean and prepare the altar for the fire to come and consume the offerings. The altar was in essence a fire place and the base of a fire place is called the hearth. Today our hearts are the altar and when we add an h to heart we get hearth. So let's see this as a Megamorphic play on words to prompt us each morning and each time we come to the altar, so to speak, to make sure that our hearts are cleansed of any residual ash, embers, etc from previous encounters, so that the fire of the Holy Spirit can burn effectively each time.
Leviticus 6:8-13 8 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 9 “Command Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is the law of the burnt offering: The burnt offering shall be on the hearth upon the altar all night until morning, and the fire of the altar shall be kept burning on it. 10 And the priest shall put on his linen garment, and his linen trousers he shall put on his body, and take up the ashes of the burnt offering which the fire has consumed on the altar, and he shall put them beside the altar. 11 Then he shall take off his garments, put on other garments, and carry the ashes outside the camp to a clean place. 12 And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it; and he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings. 13 A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out.
WOOD HAY STUBBLE 1 Cor 3 speaks of flesh and other things that are not of faith and need to be burnt up so that we produce and purify those things God wants to remain, gold silver precious stones. See Gal 5 for works of the flesh. Focus on removing residue of previous offerings and putting al the things of the flesh on the altar and torching them with an Holy Spirit inferno and we will have glory. Thanksgiving, praise and worship ignite and fuel the fire.

Keynote: Glory of the nations as referred to in Revelation 21:24-26 – Specific revelation that the nations have eternal purpose despite what we see and hear around us
Multi-Millennial Mandate: perspective on Great Commission which counters lies in racial context that defame God, His word and Church.
Now word - Deuteronomy 28 underscored by Psalm 144 and Isiah 54:3
( Deut 28 link, psalm 44 link, Isaiah 54 link )
All of these factors in Deuteronomy scripture work together to generate glory
The first blessing listed is being set high above all nations (v1).
The more the nations have glory the more glory goes to God
The more each of us show appreciation, the more we share a peaceful nation
These blessings are not primarily individual. They are in the first instance addressed to God’s chosen people Israel. However, 1 Corinthians 10 tells us all this also applies to us God’s new testament people, His Holy nation the Church God recognizes each and every individual to an extent that if we are not right with God then we should be very concerned. God knows our every thought, will judge every idle word and hols all of us to be without excuse for not turning to Him. Nevertheless, central to obeying God is the principle of living for God and others, so to receive God’s blessings we need to function as part of His people rather than as an individual. Jesus taught us to pray like that, act like that and think like that. God has created us for relationship and engaging with others is axiomatic to relationship.

ELEMENTS OF GLORY
REFERENCE STUDY
Elements listed below are examples only - encourage you to do your own Berean and small group study to build an in-depth understanding and a full repertoire of the elements of glory, note that by giving consideration to the word study and the reference study will help to build this overview and detailed understanding and create your own “ready reckoner”. As you do so, do it in the context of the entire word of God and know that aspects of God’s glory can be and are expressed without necessarily using the direct word “glory”. NOTE: all of these in various ways require groups;
