KINGDOM COME #5
KINGS IN THE KINGDOM
Revelation 1 New King James Version (NKJV)
1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, 2 who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.
4 John, to the seven churches which are in Asia:
Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth.
To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, 6 and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
A king searches out a matter (diligence)
Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.
Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with joy, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
A king has many advisers (accountability, delegation & humility)
Proverbs 11:14 Where there is no counsel, the nation fails; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety.
Proverbs 15:22 Without counsel, plans go awry, But in the multitude of counselors they are established.
Proverbs 24:6 For by wise counsel you will wage your own war, And in a multitude of counselors there is safety.
Proverbs 20:18 Plans are established by counsel; By wise counsel wage war.
A king conquers
Weapons Not Carnal, but mighty:
2 Corinthians 10:4 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
Our Tools:
Ephesian 6:10-20 “10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
We Should Be Intimidating (to evil)
Proverbs 20:2 A king's wrath strikes terror like the roar of a lion; those who anger him forfeit their lives.
We should not be passive
Proverbs 20:26 A wise king winnows out the wicked; he drives the threshing wheel over them.
A King of the kingdom of God Serves.
Luke 22:24-30 “24 Now there was also a dispute among them, as to which of them should be considered the greatest. 25 And He said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those who exercise authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’ 26 But not so among you; on the contrary, he who is greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he who governs as he who serves.27 For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves. 28 “But you are those who have continued with Me in My trials. 29 And I bestow upon you a kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one upon Me, 30 that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
The Parable of the talents: diligence & serving
Matthew 25:14-30- Faithful with the small, faithful with the much.- Diligence starts with the little things
