DESPISE NOT YOUR YOUTH

1 Timothy 4:12

12 Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

YOUTH ARE THE GREATEST

THE GREATEST IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN

Matthew 18:1-6 
18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” 2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN BELONGS TO THE YOUTH

Matthew 19:13-15
13 Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them. 14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” 15 When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.

WE HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO LEAD THE YOUTH. 

Matthew 18:6
6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

Youth are to act in a way that earns respect. 

2 Timothy 2:15 
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth

Respect is earned. Be teachable, learn the facts. Learn how to discuss things with people from an affirmation zone point of view. We’re not trying to prove that we’re right, we’re trying to establish God’s truth. What can WE do to serve? 

Shame  is a popular subject in our culture. It’s a common feeling. The Word or God gives us the answer!!!

If God has called someone when they’re young, RESPECT IT.

We Are The Stars:

Jeremiah 31:13 virgin (young girl) rejoice (Context is GATHER in the LORD’s Name)

Then young women will dance and be glad,
    young men and old as well.
I will turn their mourning into gladness;
    I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.

Lamentations 5:14 left their dance and music

5:14The elders are gone from the city gate; the young men have stopped their music.

Our biblically informed decision is that we commit today to being FOR youth. We commit to being youth ourselves, like little children as Jesus said, we commit to being an example in word, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
