Today I am going to talk about WILL!! I will cover the following:
The meaning of WILL
Some key I WILL statements from God the Father and Jesus
God’s will for our lives
What comes to mind?
WILL positive, direct, affirmative “I will come to dinner tomorrow night” it is going to happen!
a strong will - that will to live when they are in a seriously ill situation.
And then the complete opposite quickly comes to my mind - little children when asked to do something respond with “No, or later on I WILL NOT”. The word “No” meaning the same thing.
Or there is our Will – our last testament of what we own and who our estate and worldly belongings will go to.
Check the slides on the screen for various meanings of the word WILL.
Bible has 2,620 “I will” statements
God’s “I Wills”
What God wills actually WILL Happen
I will make man a help mate
I will put enmity between satan and the woman and her offspring
I will destroy man (time of Noah)
I will establish a covenant
I will not again curse the ground or every living thing as I have done
I will make you a great nation, bless you, and bless them that bless you
I will multiply your seed exceedingly
I will be your God
I will return to you
I will spare you
That is just in Genesis!
Jesus’ I wills
I would have gathered your children together as chicks
I will make you fishers of men
I will. Be clean”
I will confess you before my Father in heaven (to those who confess my name)
I will give you the keys of the Kingdom
If you come to me, I will in no way cast you out
This is my Father’s will that sent me, that everyone that sees the son, and believes on him may have everlasting life and I WILL raise him up on the last day.
God’s Will for our lives:
LIVE BY FAITH
Romans 1:17 -The Just shall live by Faith - Martin Luther got this rhema and this scripture caused a revival
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Hebrews 9:16 – 17 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
Faith – a key foundation – part of our C2R Foundations
Col 2: Not “Will worship” - not by works
John 6 – If any Man wills to do God’s will
John 7:17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
CONTEND FOR THE FAITH
Jude 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
The faith, not MY FAITH
Faith in God
Eg: Bringing kids up - in marriage go to the scriptures on what God’s word says and agree to live by that.
Heb 11: 1 - Faith is the substance of things hoped for.
Our walk with the Lord includes a process of purification. And one of those areas in our life that needs to be purifies is our WILL! This too has to be in submission to God
GET BUILT UP IN OUR MOST HOLY FAITH
Jude 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
It is not a formula – it is not a superstitious thing – building ourself us
Building up our faith in God, - 5 months no job - God came through
GOD HAS A SPECIFIC WILL FOR US
My calling and election are sure
Bible has lots of examples of specifically calling people out throughout the old and New testament – Abraham, Moses, Gideon, David the Apostles, Saul who later became Paul,
God has a calling for each of our lives
If you don’t know what is, get going to a church, get alongside people, serve where you can and it will come to you.
BID
Those who want to live in Obedience to God, His will, receive this inheritance, they want to live in relationship with Him …
Those who have struggles that they are living in Gods will - Let’s submit our will to His will
